Ice Cream Inspired Fashion

I scream, you scream, we all scream for…you guessed it—ice cream! This sweet treat is one of America’s favorites. Honestly, who can live their whole life without at least one hot fudge sundae or apple pie a la mode? It’s simply un-American (ok, not really…lol)! Although we’re all in agreement about the deliciousness of ice cream, this week, we’re going to explore ice cream’s unique influence on fashion. Yes, I said fashion. I guarantee you’ll be surprised by what you learn.

Fashion Inspiration

What’s your favorite flavor? Personally, I love vanilla paired with anything—especially strawberry. My latest outfit combines the best parts of my favorite flavors. The creamy/smooth ‘vanilla’ jeggings from Long Tall Sally perfectly intertwine  with the beautifully textured ‘strawberry’ tank and crotchet top from Forever 21 Plus. The pastel pink adds an extra touch of femininity that I adore. And while you and I know I was inspired by a simple craving, no one else would.

Ice Cream and Pop Culture

Do you think I’m making this up? Think again. Over the last decade, major brands have begun incorporating ice cream colors and textures into their latest designs. t-shirt featuring four cones from Pharrell Williams' clothing lineIn 2005, Pharrell Williams launched the eclectic brand, IceCream, to creatively display this sweet treat on t-shirts and sneakers. Just last week, luxury ice cream manufacturer, Magnum, partnered with Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin and Suki Waterhouse to kick off the Cannes Film Festival. This new partnership with three of young Hollywood’s fashion darlings definitely tells you that ice cream isn’t just for eating any more.

So now that you’ve been schooled on the proper way to eat (and dress like) ice cream, how are you going to incorporate your favorite flavors into your next weekend look? Drop me a few comments below! I’d love to hear all about your ideas.
